How to Administer Azithromycin 1% Ophthalmic Eye Drops

Wash your hands thoroughly before beginning. Gently pull down your lower eyelid to create a small pocket.

Hold the dropper above your eye, about ½ inch away. Squeeze a single drop into the lower eyelid pocket.

Close your eye gently for about 1-2 minutes to allow the medication to spread evenly.

Gently blot away any excess medication with a clean tissue.

Avoid touching the dropper tip to your eye or any surface. This prevents contamination.

If using multiple drops, wait at least 5 minutes between applications.

Follow your doctor’s instructions regarding dosage and frequency. Proper administration is key for treatment success.

If you experience blurry vision, stinging, or persistent redness, contact your ophthalmologist immediately.

Always refer to the patient information leaflet included with your medication for complete instructions.
