Monitoring Your Body During the Taper

Track your weight daily. Small fluctuations are normal, but significant changes warrant a call to your doctor.

Monitor your blood pressure regularly, ideally at the same time each day. Record the readings and share them with your physician.

Pay close attention to your mood. Report any significant shifts, including increased anxiety or depression. Your doctor can adjust your support if needed.

Note any changes in your sleep patterns. Difficulty sleeping or excessive sleepiness should be discussed with your doctor.

Observe your skin for any unusual bruising or changes in coloration. Report these immediately.

Record any muscle weakness or pain. This is especially important if these are new symptoms or significantly worsen.

If you experience any unusual bleeding or increased susceptibility to infections, contact your doctor promptly.

Keep a detailed record of all medications you’re taking, including over-the-counter drugs. Share this information with your healthcare provider.

Regularly check your blood sugar levels if you have diabetes, as dexamethasone can impact glucose control.

Communicate openly with your doctor about any concerns you have throughout the tapering process. Your feedback guides the best course of action.
