Contact emergency services immediately if you experience any of the following:
- High fever (above 101°F or 38.3°C). Severe abdominal pain that doesn’t improve with rest or over-the-counter pain relievers. Signs of dehydration, such as dizziness, decreased urination, or dry mouth. Bloody stools or bright red blood in your stool. Persistent vomiting that prevents you from keeping down fluids. Abdominal tenderness or rigidity.
Seek immediate medical attention if your diverticulitis symptoms worsen despite taking Augmentin, even if you haven’t experienced the above symptoms. This includes increased pain, fever, or any new or concerning symptoms.
Don’t delay seeking help. Prompt treatment is crucial for managing diverticulitis complications.
Call your doctor immediately if you have concerns about your symptoms. If your doctor’s office is closed, visit the nearest emergency room or urgent care facility. Describe your symptoms clearly and accurately to medical professionals.
Remember, early intervention can significantly improve your outcome.
